The cal 73 start in 1916 with runs of 200 each with 17, 19 and 21 jewels as a 73B's. The next runs I found were 300 more in 1919, 300 in 1920 and 200 in 1921 with no jewel count specified, so it was probably a mix.

Plus it's always a pleasure to work with IWC:s.I have a soft spot for the fingerbridge movement cal 73, not only for its beauty, but also the fact that many of the calibre 73 watches came in fantastic gold cases, art deco decorations, truly pieces of art. And today I have such a piece of art to show, when I saw my cal 73 Phoenix (as I call it ) I was smitten by its beauty. The watch I choose today, to compliment Tonnys Cal. 73 with its very rare dial is one that we do not see often either and certainly rates amongst the most beautiful pieces of art/haute horologe in my Colletion.The watch today is a perfect example why I like these cal 73's from the art deco period so much. If I was a movie director, you would see Hercule Poirot wandering through Brussels with a gold calibre 73 on his vest.

These were produced from 1913 to 1931 in 67,500 examples. Additionally, a very rare and beautiful IWC finger bridge movement was Caliber 69. If one would have a beauty contest of IWC calibers, I gues the jury would put the caliber 73, caliber 77 and caliber 71 on the podium.
